All social media accounts affiliated with the College of Arts and Sciences should implement strategies that align with the goals of the college by providing content that advances its reputation, highlights its impact, creates a content destination for audiences and inspires support from the community.

What is a social media manager?
A social media manager is anyone who manages a social media channel in any capacity on behalf of a university-affiliated entity. While “social media” may not be in your title, if it is one of your assigned duties, you are considered a social media manager.

All university social media accounts and social media managers must adhere to the university social media policies to remain active.

Arts and Sciences Social Media Policies
These policies outline the minimum requirements that all social media accounts affiliated with ASC must adhere to, in addition to university policies, in order to remain active, as well as processes for account creation and social media post requests.
New Account Approval and Creation
Departments seeking to create new social media channels must do the following:
- Meet with the social media unit lead to discuss social media needs and strategy
- Obtain approval from social media unit lead
- Submit an application to the university

Arts and Sciences Social Media Directory
The directory includes each unit’s social media accounts and their respective social media managers. In order to keep the directory up-to-date, we are asking that all departments please submit any changes to their social media accounts and/or management.
Arts and Sciences Social Media Teams Channel
This Teams channel is a place for social media managers throughout the college to connect with colleagues and access resources to assist departments with their social media efforts.
